Broga Hill, Semenyih

Broga Hill, also known as Bukit Lalang is famous for it's landscape covered by the local grass slightly similar to wheat. It's located between the border of Kuala Lumpur and Negeri Sembilan. You can easily identify the spot as there are many cars parked at the road side on weekends. Right in front is the "Rabbit Fun Land", you can see the signboard huge in yellow color, but do take not that it is not a park where you can bring your kids for a bunny sight seeing, the place is actually selling RABBIT MEAT. The entrance to the hill is free and through a oil palm where cars are parked in between (wrote there parking fee RM2). Go along the way and you will see the sign showing the way up.

There will be a clear path which you can easily follow, and bare in mind that you will first need to go through a young forest. If possible, bring a walking stick with you, it will help you along the way. Don't worry about being alone in the forest, there are many people hiking with you and as we heard from some hikers the hike starts from 5am.

This was the first time we decided to go for a hike up the famous hill to see for ourselves of the long heard spectacular scenery from the hill top. Sadly, we were not prepared (4 years after graduation, we are seriously lacking of exercise... ) so we only manage to hike for 40 minutes and decided to give up till we are more "prepared". So for those who are having health problem or physically not-so-fit, be prepared... It's not a hard hill to hike, but it is not a long stroll on the beach either. You will need some stamina to get to the top... Then again, even so, we had a good time exercising and taking some pictures of the surroundings. We also still believe that it will be worth the effort to get to the top... So... till then... we shall get ourselves more in shape and try again!! :p

  1. Hi there,

Nice pictures u have there. I went to Broga Hill last week, and it was fun. And guess what, It was only 2 weeks after I was discharged from hospital due to a chronic disease I have for 7 years now. I went up and down the hill with no problem. It was funny as I thought I was going to pass out or something. It just happened that my other ''fit'' friends did not manage to go as far as I did. That makes the memory sweeter! lol!!

The funnier part was, we went up as early as 4 am!! Hence, we did not managed to get beautiful pictures like yours except we managed to catch the sun rising~ and that should compensates it all! Nice blog! Am going to A'famosa next week!

    Cheers,

    Amira
